Derwent Skiff 5.5m - Solid Timber Parts
 |

This provides you with all the solid timber machined to size. The standard solid timber uses Celery Top Pine (hard and durable) for all the parts that get knocked in use (keel trim, skeg, cutwater and the outer laminations of the gunwales and riggers). The remaining solid timber is in Western Red Cedar because it is very light, durable and easily worked. In its standard format you need to cut pieces to length and scarf the longer pieces to form the gunwales and the keel trim.
If you select the pre-scarfed option the scarfs are done for you - just add glue!
The main parts are:
Gunwales
Stern
Skeg
Knees
Small components for buoyancy tank, rigger and stretcher
Supports for the front of the buoyancy tank
